Case B: Establishment of production in Latvia for metal processing company

Customer challenge:
Three metal processing companies needed production cost reduction and penetration of new growth markets.

Global House service:
Global House fundraised EUR 35.000 for a feasibility study regarding establishment of a cluster setup in the Baltic countries. Thomas Hjelm travelled with the three Danish companies to Latvia and made the decision report for establishment of cluster setup in Latvia. Two of the companies bought a small production company about 50 km from Riga.

Results:
Two companies establish low cost production in Latvia and penetrated the booming construction industry in the Baltic countries.

Benefits obtained by customer:
The feasibility study process and the decision report made by Global House were important for the three companies to make their strategic decision.
